His displays have adorned such places as St. James' Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral, Claridges, Home House, the Dorchester, the Waldorf, Raffles and The Chelsea Flower Show. Paul's stunning arrangements continue to be the talking point of many a media launch in London or a society wedding in St.Tropez.

While his sophisticated and witty creations frequently break the ice, there is a relaxed formality to his work, which mirrors the natural seasonal harmonies of the garden. You will often find dill and rosemary, flowering artichokes or gourds sitting comfortably with sweet peas, delphiniums and roses, and he combines urban and country motifs with audacious elegance.

Following his own advice to "be brave, clash colours but don't over arrange, keep it simple," nothing is too fussy or busy. The effect, whether it's a leathers and feathers party for Tamara Beckwith, Cruella De Ville's castle to launch 101 Dalmatians, or a Midsummer Night 's Dream wedding, is always sensational.

Paul's sense of drama comes from his early years spent as a major child actor. Making his debut playing Oliver in Cameron Mackintosh's first West End production in 1979,he then went on to play Louis in The King and I with Yul Brynner and Virginia McKenna at The Palladium, and Wharton in Another Country with Rupert Everett, Kenneth Branagh and Daniel Day-Lewis.
